SERENAMENTE JUNIOR is a remedy for controlling the following conditions in children:

  • nervousness and tension
  • anxiety and worry
  • sleep disorders associated with physical and mental fatigue
  • irritability
  • manifestations of neurosis such as tics, stuttering

Fear and anxiety are basic emotions embedded in us for the purpose of self-preservation. They mobilize us to look for better coping strategies and increase our adaptability to the environment and the changes that occur in it. The world of children, like that of adults, is full of problems, unfulfilled dreams, stress and fatigue. Regardless of their age, children experience stress and problems in the same way as adults, but in a slightly different way. The number of children with manifestations of stress, emotional problems and neurosis is growing nowadays. An indirect sign of this is the use of psychotropic drugs. According to a study conducted between 2005 and 2012 in the United States and Europe and published in The European Journal Of Neuropsychopharmacology, the use of such drugs has increased by 40% in 7 years.

Childhood neuroses are reversible functional disorders of the nervous system. They are very common and make up about 30% of the children examined by a pediatric neurologist. They are caused by fatigue or stress (strong, one-time or with continuous effects on the nervous system). The still immature nervous system of children is very susceptible to psychological influences from the outside, therefore the neurosis most often manifests itself for the first time in childhood. Children are very vulnerable and logically any negative event can leave a mark with consequences.

Neurotic disorders are common in children and can occur at any age, in most cases when exposed to acute or chronic stress or certain personality traits. They generally occur as a result of some nervous tension in children. They are manifested by long-term debilitating factors (mental, educational, mental fatigue), especially in combination with other diseases.

Anxiety manifests itself differently in different periods of a child's development. Children with anxiety disorders are generally more insecure, depressed, isolated, and avoidant. They may refuse to attend kindergarten or school. They are often irritable, with impaired concentration (especially in the afternoon, evening, at the end of the school day), irritable, crying, with disturbed sleep with delusions or nightmares. Characteristic of childhood is the close connection of mental and physical processes. Due to the difficulty in expressing their emotional states in words, anxiety in children is often expressed through physical complaints (headache, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, sweating) or through aggressive manifestations. Clinically, the neurosis is manifested by depression, indecision, lethargy, apathy. There are complaints such as tension headache, dizziness or "internal dizziness", loss of appetite. There is also autonomic dysfunction (sweating, increased dermographism, tingling in parts of the body). Tics or stuttering may occur. neurosis can also be accompanied by problems with the gastrointestinal tract such as stomach pain, upset and cramps in the abdomen.

The link between stress and the immune system has been proven. Stress weakens the functions of innate and acquired immunity. When the stress mechanism is activated frequently or for long periods of time, it can significantly upset the balance of work of a number of systems in the body. It further reduces the ability to fight bacteria and viruses and makes it difficult to form protective antibodies. It has been proven that children under the influence of stress are twice as likely to get colds.

Anxiety becomes pathological when it is more intense, longer lasting and affects our functioning. It is good for parents to seek help if the child's fears and worries become excessive and he is unable to cope with his daily activities. Timely diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders in childhood is the prevention of anxiety and depressive disorders in adulthood.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Lemon balm

Lemon balm with its alkaloids has a pronounced sedative activity, removing the feeling of excitement and tension. Lemon balm extract improves sleep quality, calms the mind and improves mood without negative side effects such as drowsiness or dizziness. Lemon balm has a beneficial effect on the nervous system due to its effect on GABA receptors, as well as on serotonin, and studies show that this is due to the rosemary acid it contains. Rosemary acid increases the levels of the neurotransmitter amino acid GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid), which calms brain activity, reduces stress, improves the thought process and helps against anxiety and worry without getting used to it. This is why the herb helps to fall asleep easily. Rosemary acid also has antiviral activity. Separately, balm has a beneficial effect on the stomach and digestive problems, which often affect sleep. Lemon balm intake improves sleep in people with insomnia and midnight awakening. The effect is also very important in children, because the balm has a mild effect and does not lead to addiction. This is its huge advantage over heavier medications, which are often prescribed at an early age and have an effect on children's development. The use of balm helps in hyperactive children with unsustainable attention. Unlike other preparations, balm does not reduce performance, but on the contrary - improves cognitive abilities and increases attention. Research shows that taking no balm extract improves mental ability in solving problems related to memory, math, and concentration. The influence of the receptors, as well as the set of antispasmodic ingredients in the balm make it extremely suitable for headaches, especially when the headache is due to muscle cramps / tension headache /. Lemon balm also has a pronounced beneficial effect on a wide range of digestive problems such as upset stomach, bloating, vomiting, pain, etc.

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) is an abbreviation for gamma-aminobutyric acid or also known as gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is a non-essential, neurotransmitter amino acid that is naturally synthesized primarily in the human brain. GABA improves the movement of nerve impulses by preventing neurons (cells of the central nervous system) from being overstimulated, ie. plays the role of a mediator that reduces the excitatory mental processes in the brain. This hyperexcitability of neurons could otherwise manifest itself as anxiety, insomnia, headaches, seizures, muscle cramps, mental disorders, tics and more. In the human body, GABA calms brain waves in states of nervousness and anxiety, improves concentration and thought process and induces sleep. GABA has a natural calming effect, reducing the feeling of fear and anxiety by weakening the excitability of neurons. Decreased GABA production is reported in people who are exposed to stress. The same problem is observed in people who are very tense or overworked. If GABA levels are normal, then sleep is also calm and normal. This neurotransmitter is also thought to play a role in depression, as studies have found that people with depression tend to have lower levels of GABA. Panic attacks, addictions, cognitive impairment and many other conditions are also associated with low GABA activity. Other studies show that GABA increases the concentration of human growth hormone (HGH), which contributes to better muscle strength, healthier bones and a lower risk of heart disease. GABA, leads to a better protective response of the body to stress, a feeling of relaxation and relieves symptoms of fatigue, anxiety and distraction.

Rosemary acid, which is one of the main active ingredients in JUNIOR SERENAMENT, has been shown to increase GABA levels, which in turn has a number of positive effects on the nervous system and reduces stress and eliminates anxiety. This is because rosemary acid inhibits (counteracts) a certain enzyme (GABA-transaminase) in the human body, which leads to the breakdown of GABA. By blocking this enzyme that destroys rosmarinic acid, it helps increase the amount of GABA in the brain, which in turn increases the positive effect of GABA by reducing neuronal excitability and calming the mind. Studies have shown that rosmarinic acid, of all plant extracts, has the strongest inhibitory ability against GABA-transaminase, which favors the feeling of mental comfort and relieves nervous tension.

Jujuba

Jujuba is of Asian origin. It contains triterpenoid saponins, isoquinoline alkaloids / zizifuzin /, cyclopeptides, flavonoids, tannins, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. The flavonoids in jujube have strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor properties, which help reduce the risk of a number of chronic diseases. The anxiolytic and sedative effect of jujube is associated with the effect of serotonin in the CNS. Reduces waking at night and improves sleep. Its anxiolytic and sedative effect has been associated with effects on the serotonin system. According to a number of phytotherapists, the five most useful medicinal plants in the world definitely include jujube, which is not widespread and almost unknown in our country.

Camomile

It has antispasmodic and sedative effects. Its effective ingredients are flavonoids and the alkaloid apigenin. Flavonoids bind to benzodiazepine receptors and have a sedative effect. Flavonoids promote good sleep, have anxiolytic action and have an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. Apigenin reduces the symptoms of depression and anxiety. In addition, clinical data demonstrate the very good effect of apigenin in treating insomnia. In children, they are used to relax and improve sleep. Chamomile relaxes the nervous system and acts as an anti-inflammatory. It helps with irritations of the nervous system because it has the ability to relax it. Successfully reduces anxiety, restlessness and insomnia. This makes it a good helper in the prevention of depression and diseases associated with increased levels of stress in the body. It also reduces headaches.

Linden

Linden has a sedative and antispasmodic effect. Linden flowers contain the flavonoids quercetin and kaempferol. They affect the manifestations of stress and nervousness. They also have a calming and antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. The combination of compounds and chemicals found in linden reduces stomach discomfort. These effects are associated with terpenes, which have been shown to reduce spontaneous intestinal hyperactivity and suppress duodenal and small bowel spasms caused by acetylcholine. The sedative effect that flavonoids in linden have is used in manifestations of stress and neurosis. Linden is a proven remedy against anxiety, frequent mood swings and chronic stress. It has a calming effect, especially before sleep or with increased excitability, especially in children, where other medications are not recommended. It also helps effectively with tension headaches and inflammatory processes.
