WHAT IS PRIMA DONNA?

Prima Donna is a specially developed combination of herbal ingredients designed to relieve the symptoms (physical and mental) that occur with a decrease in the level of estrogen hormones before and during menopause. It contains active phyto complexes aimed at ensuring optimal response in three steps: hormonal rebalancing (phytoestrogens), affecting the manifestations of anxiety, insomnia and the cardiovascular system (medicinal herbs), mineral balance (Vitamin D, selenium, minerals).

WHO IS PRIMA DONNA INTENDED FOR?

Prima Donna is a dietary supplement designed for women before and during menopause.

WHAT IS MENOPAUSE?

Women are born with a limited number of eggs that are stored in the ovaries. Menopause (menopause) occurs when the ovaries can no longer release eggs every month and menstruation stops. This is a natural biological process that occurs at a certain period of a woman's life. The transition to menopause is associated with hormonal changes and unpleasant symptoms. This period is called perimenopause. It begins years before the onset of true menopause. To confirm the onset of menopause, a woman should not menstruate for 12 consecutive months (in the absence of other causes - pregnancy, medication, etc.). Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55, with an average age of 50-51 years. Disorders related to it can last for several more years (postmenopause).

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?

Women experience in the beginning the so-called psychovegetative complaints - hot flashes, sweating, insomnia, irritability and palpitations. During this period, women experience a violation of regular menstruation (shorter or longer cycle, skipping menstruation, etc.). Mood swings, depression, anxiety, difficulty concentrating and memory problems are also common. Unpleasant symptoms of the genitourinary system also occur - pain during sexual intercourse and / or dryness of the vagina, low libido (sexual desire). A woman can gain weight. Skin changes such as dry skin, hair loss, increased hair growth in other parts of the body (face, neck, chest, back) occur. Loss of bone and muscle mass and painful and stiff joints are observed. Most women do not need medical treatment. A higher percentage of women develop symptoms about 4 years before the last menstrual period. Symptoms often last for about 4 years after that.

WHAT ARE THE MECHANISMS THAT LEAD TO THESE FEELINGS?

The ovaries produce the hormones estrogen and progesterone, which control menstruation and ovulation. Perimenopausal symptoms are caused by changing levels of hormones released by the ovaries, such as estrogen. As menopause approaches and eggs shrink, the body begins to produce less and less estrogen, causing the body to behave differently. Of course, the body does not stop producing estrogen overnight and the process can take several years, with symptoms occurring gradually. Along with estrogen, the production of the hormone progesterone also begins to decline. These two hormones undergo constant changes, and their levels vary at any given time.

WHAT ARE ISOFLAVONES?

Isoflavones are substances from the group of plant estrogens - phytoestrogens. They have a similar effect to female sex hormones, but are not steroids.

WHY ARE ISOFLAVONES USED?

Isoflavones support the maintenance of functional estrogen levels in women over the age of 40. They support the natural hormonal balance during and after menopause. During menopause, ovarian hormonal function gradually stops and the level of estrogen in the blood decreases. This decrease is associated with a number of unpleasant symptoms such as hot flashes, tension, palpitations, mood swings and more. Isoflavones relieve menopause; prevent the development of osteoporosis and some cancers. They strengthen and strengthen the bone system. They have the most powerful effect among plant estrogens. Isoflavones have a number of other benefits. They act as antioxidants and anti-carcinogens, strengthen the immune system. They calm the nervous system, reduce states of anxiety, melancholy and nervousness. Isoflavones lower the level of total cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, improve the elasticity of the arteries. Due to all these actions, isoflavones play a very important role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

HOW DOES PRIMA DONNA DIFFER FROM OTHER PREPARATIONS RECOMMENDED AT MENOPAUSE?

The most famous source of phytoestrogens is soy. In soy foods their concentration is high, reaching 3 mg / g. However, soy isoflavones are weak phytoestrogens, as most of them are not in the free state but are bound to glucose as glucosides. In order to increase their bioavailability and make them active, their sugar part must be separated in the intestinal tract. The most important for human health are genisten and daizen. They are inactive molecules, in the form of glucosides (genistin and daidzin) and active when they are in the form of aglucones (genistein and daidzein).

Kudzu and clover isoflavones are more bioavailable.

The isoflavones contained in kudzu and red clover are in higher quantities and better structural characteristics, which determine greater bioavailability than other sources. Kudzu and red clover isoflavones have the most complete range of phytoestrogens - genistein, daidzein, biocanin A, formononetin, puerarin. Puerarin is a specific kudzu isoflavone, with greater bioavailability, absorption and longer persistence in plasma (4-72 hours after ingestion) than all other isoflavones. In addition, kudzu and red clover are not at risk of GMO content.

Prima Donna contains separate herbal ingredients with a purely symptomatic effect on the main subjective complaints associated with menopause, acting simultaneously with phytoestrogens (passionflower, hawthorn).

  • Less isoflavones.
  • High concentration of isoflavones in the form of gluconate / presence of a sugar part in the structure /, which require preliminary enzymatic hydrolysis in the intestine. Therefore, they are absorbed more slowly and in lower amounts.
  • Risk of GMOs.
  • More phytoestrogens (biocanin A has protective effects on the cardiovascular system, formononetin promotes osteoblast proliferation).
  • Good concentration of isoflavones in aglycone form. / ie deprived of the sugar part / and this allows faster absorption.
  • The most complete range of phytoestrogens. Presence of Puerarin (Kudzu's specific isoflavone, with greater bioavailability, absorption and longer persistence in plasma (4-72 hours after dosing) compared to all other isoflavones.
  • Good concentration of isoflavones in aglycone form.

HOW DO THE INDIVIDUAL INGREDIENTS WORK?

Kudzu

Kudzu root extract contains the isoflavone daidzein, which has phytoestrogenic properties. It affects various symptoms associated with menopause, and also plays an important role in the prevention of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Favorably affects dysmenorrhea. Its active ingredients have strong anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-cancer effects. Kudzu relieves headaches and migraines, helps women cope with the symptoms of menopause, including hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

Red clover

The phytoestrogens found in red clover have a structure similar to that of human estrogen. The four major isoflavones maintain healthy estrogen levels in menopausal women. They have a beneficial effect on bone tissue, limit calcium loss, relieve hot flashes, insomnia and night sweats. Isoflavones in red clover (formononetin, biochanin A, daidzein and genistein) moderately activate alpha- and beta-estrogen receptors and competitively displace excess estrogen from its site of action, thus accelerating its elimination from the body. In this way, the normal physiological effects of estrogen are achieved without the accumulation of toxic (and potentially carcinogenic to the glands and mucous membranes) metabolites. Isoflavones do not have a steroidal structure and are not converted into hormones. Their effect on hot flashes initially affects their intensity, and over time their frequency of occurrence decreases. Red clover isoflavones slow bone resorption and reduce bone loss by increasing bone density and preventing the development of osteoporosis.

Passionflower

Passionflower extract affects states of nervousness, anxiety and insomnia. Passionflower extract supports the activity of the nervous system in situations of intense tension, anxiety, fear attacks, mood swings, difficulty falling asleep and restless sleep. The rosemary acid and vitexin contained in the passionflower extract increase the levels of the neurotransmitter amino acid GABA. GABA calms brain activity and thus reduces stress, improves the thought process and helps against anxiety and worry without the negative side effects and drug addiction. The brain uses GABA in states of stress and nervous tension, and GABA not only causes relaxation but also reduces anxiety.

Hawthorn

Hawthorn contains many flavonoids, which are among the most powerful antioxidants. Normalizes cholesterol levels. Tones the heart muscle, has a vasodilating effect. It also improves blood circulation in the brain. Reduces nervous excitement, eliminates insomnia, normalizes sleep.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin with numerous important functions for the body. It helps in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestines and maintains the health of bones and muscles. It is important for the prevention of osteoporosis in the period before and during menopause. It plays a significant role in maintaining immunity and prevention of autoimmune and infectious diseases. Regulates the growth of both normal and tumor cells. For this reason, it can play an important role in the prevention and treatment of various types of cancer, especially colon, pancreatic and breast cancer.

Selenium

Selenium is an essential mineral for the human body. It is a powerful antioxidant that fights oxidative stress and helps protect the body from chronic diseases such as heart disease and cancer. The whole micromineral has powerful antioxidant and immunostimulating functions. It is involved in the composition of enzymes that prevent the formation of the most dangerous free radicals that other antioxidants are unable to deal with. Selenium is crucial for the health and proper functioning of the immune system. Thanks to its antioxidant and detoxifying action, selenium helps hair and skin look healthy and beautiful.
